On May 19, 2014, Holiday World began releasing information about their 2015 expansion plans. They launched the teaser site 66DaysAtSea.com to give clues over the course of 66 days as to what the big announcement may be.  You can read more about the site here. Day 21

Analysis

Let's take a look at today's entry:

• "We tell the children the bow of our ship resembles a plow, cutting through the ocean waves."
• Plows obviously cut through the ground, and this reference here seems to point to the land clearing that is already underway.  The "cutting through the ocean wave" portion of this entry leads me to believe that the ride this land clearing is for will somehow interact with Splashin' Safari in one way or another.
• "The spray on deck feels colder now than at the start of our journey."
• I fully expect some type of water feature to be included in the announcement.  Whether it's a waterslide, a splashdown feature on a coaster, or something else is hard to pinpoint at this point.  This is where the existing structures leftover from Giraffica may come in to play.

Day 20

Analysis

Let's take a look at today's entry:

• "There was much consternation about bringing women and children on this voyage to the New World."
• This certainly points toward the addition of a family friendly attraction.  I would expect Holiday World to install something with a low height requirement that the entire family can enjoy together.  It might or might not be the headliner of the expansion, but it will play an integral part in it.
• "It appears to me, however, that those among us who have suffered the most from seasickness are not overwhelmingly female or young."
• Let me just say that I hope this isn't a reference to ride vehicle restraints that may be more restrictive on the male anatomy than that of females.  The only egregious offender of this are the B&M stand-up trains which tend to be painful to the sensitive nether regions of men.  Since a new stand-up hasn't been built in forever, I think it's safe to cross that off the list of possible additions.

Day 19

Analysis

Let's take a look at today's entry:

• "But oh how I love to escape up to deck and gaze at the clouds."
• I interpret this as a reference to inversions of some sort.  If Holiday World does indeed add a major steel coaster as speculated, it makes sense that it would have inversion.  They could install an out-and-back hyper or some other type of non-looping coaster, but that would be too similar to the other coasters they already have.  Adding something unique like an inverting coaster would diversify the park's ride lineup and fill a perceived void that coaster enthusiasts and the general population have been clammering about for years.

Let's take a look at today's entry:

• I can't really decipher anything from today's entry, so I'll switch gears a little bit.  Did any of our readers attend HoliWood Nights last weekend?  Did the park drop any hints, or did you see anything on the Voyage walk back?  I wasn't able to attend this year, and I didn't hear any reports of the park announcing anything, but I thought I'd ask our readers just in case they noticing anything during the event.

Day 17

Analysis

Let's take a look at today's entry:

• "We embarked on this voyage in order to find freedom.  We remind ourselves daily that it will be worth the struggle and the sacrifice."
• For the sake of argument, I'm going to say this is another clue pointing to impending work on The Voyage.  This could be hinting at a long closure of the park's beloved coaster in order to make significant alterations that will make it even more intense and exciting (if that's even possible).
• "We have faith that this New World will bring joy to our hearts and peace to our souls
• Journey to the New World would make a good name for a ride, in my opinion.  But I digress. I think that "New World"  here is just a code word for the forthcoming announcement.  Just as the pilgrims had faith that the new world of America would bring them joy, the theme park enthusiasts like myself have faith that Holiday World's announcement will likewise bring us joy.

Day 16

Analysis

Let's take a look at today's entry:

• Actually, today I don't really have any guesses as to what hints this entry might contain. This is a good time, however, to point out that every entry may not have a clue. Over the course of this 66 day journey, there are bound to be a few red herrings thrown around just to keep us on our toes. Today's entry seems to be just that, an entry. Nothing more than a recreated journal entry from a passenger on the Mayflower. The reference to Stephen (a.k.a. Stephen Hopkins), his wife Elizabeth (a.k.a. Elizabeth (Fisher) Hopkins), and their son Oceanus (who actually was born on the Mayflower) leads me to believe that this is just a really well researched journal entry. Whether there's a clue in there or not, kudos to Holiday World for putting so much time and effort into the details of an announcement teaser project.

Day 15

Analysis

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Let's take a look at today's entry:

• "We count one hundred plus two passengers on board."
• Many of the clues so far been have been up for debate depending on how you've interpreted them.  This clue, on the other hand, is very specific.  102 passengers.  I am going to assume this is the maximum number of riders on a ride at a given time.  If this assumption is correct, then it's also safe to assume this ride is a coaster since there's no other rides that could handle that large of a capacity at a single time.  A little bit of math tells me that a coaster with three trains of 34 passengers each would add up to 102 passengers.  After doing some research, the only existing coaster I could find with 34 passenger trains is Expedition Everest, which was built by Vekoma.  Although Holiday World would never build something of that scale of theming, I could easily imagine them installing a launching Vekoma coaster that travels out through the woods and has a few inversions.
• It's also worth noting that the current Guinness World Record for the most naked riders on a theme park ride is currently 102.  While Holiday World's marketing department is fond of record breaking rides to showcase in their advertising, I think it's safe to assume this is one record they won't be breaking any time soon.
