Day 51
Analysis
Let's take a look at today's entry:
- "The terrible sound from inside the ship, we are told by the crew, was the cracking of a massive beam that runs through our ship. Mayflower's mainmast is supported by that beam. A solution must soon be found or we may be forever lost at sea."
- While the cracking of a massive beam on a ship sounds serious, at least it's not a partial train derailment. I'm not going to read too much into it since the Pilgrims actually had to repair the mast after a series of rough storms with what they called a "a great iron screw". Perhaps this is a hint of track work on The Voyage. Instead of fixing the rough wood on the coaster, maybe Holiday World will opt to make it like new with a bit of iron or their own (i.e. Iron Horse treatment from Rocky Mountain Coasters).

Just got back from Holiday World. Rode Voyage a couple times in the front row, got a great look at the track (captain obvious) and the surroundings. Personal feeling is they are going to re-route or change the final 3rd of the ride. Coming out of the last tunnel there are several new concrete footers and they've been clearing some trees out. I think one of the additions will be a long tunnel, & I've also wondered if they would somehow use the area where Pilgrim's Plunge used to be. Maybe end the coaster with a splashdown kind of like DiamondBack's? Just a few thoughts..
