Day 54
Analysis
Let's take a look at today's entry:
- "A solution may be at hand. A tool used in house-carpentry is part of our ship's cargo. The tool is used for management of heavy timber and has been placed under the beam. As we give strength to the damaged beam, we too feel strength. And hope."
- The way the Pilgrims used steel to support the wood on their boat has me imagining the same concept as applied to a coaster. Sure there are several hybrid coasters out there like The Voyage with a traditional wood track bed and a steel structure that mimics a traditional wooden coaster, but how cool would it be to see wooden rails on top of traditional tubular steel supports? The lift hill on Goliath at Six Flags Great America utilizes this concept somewhat, and I think it would be great to see it used throughout the entire length of a coaster.
Check back tomorrow for our analysis of Day 55.

To date, by far, this was their biggest tell. As a minimum, the Voyage is going to be reinforced and expanded (Last 3rd of the track). From seeing the footers (in person 3 weeks ago, and going back in 3 weeks), I still believe a steel coaster is imminent.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be cool if they left the original part wood, and the expanded part steel covered? Not sure what the theme or idea would be but dunno if I've seen that done anywhere.
